Indian Oil Corporation Limited Requires Engineers for Operation of Naphtha Cracker & Downstream Polymer Plants

To realize its vision of emerging as a diversified, transnational, integrated energy major, IndianOil has undertaken an ambitious expansion programme into Petrochemicals. IndianOil requires bright, result-oriented engineers with initiative and enterprise for its Naphtha Cracker and Downstream Polymer Complex at Panipat (Haryana), India.
The corporation is looking for Experienced Chemical/Petrochemical Engineers for Panel/ Field Operations as well as Shift In-charge for the Naphtha Cracker & Associated Units, Polypropylene Unit, HDPE/LLDPE Swing Unit, MEG Unit and HDPE Unit,
Minimum Qualification: Candidates should be holding full time regular degree of BE/B.Tech./B.Sc Engg. in Chemical / Petrochemical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience:
- For Panel & Field Operations – 2 to 3 years of relevant experience of handling panel/field operations in above units, trouble shooting, plant start-up/shut down, safety procedures, emergency handling related to operations, supervise the group of operation staff and successfully operate the plants. Knowledge of process engineering/ technical services function in above units will be an added advantage.
- For Shift In-charge – 4 to 6 years of relevant experience as shift/unit incharge in above units, should be thorough in operation and trouble shooting, plant pre-commissioning and commissioning, plant start-up/shut down jobs, safety procedures, emergency handling related to operations etc. The candidate should also be able to operate the plant independently, besides training new engineers and operation staff, Knowledge of process engineering/technical services function in above units will be an added advantage.
Upper Age Limit : The upper age limit (as on 31st July 2008) is 28 years for the position of panel/field operations and 32 years for shift in-charge. ( Relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Relaxation in Age & Experience: Relaxation in age and experience shall be considered in respect of deserving candidates.
Reservation : Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and relaxations thereof as per Govt. Directives.
Selection Process: The selection methodology shall comprise of Personal Interview.
How to Apply:
The online registration commences on 10th July 2008 and closes on 25th July 2008.
Before registering “online”, candidates must ensure that they are ready with the following documents/information since the same are required in the application:
- e-mail id (plus an alternate e-mail id) with a minimum validity for the next six months.
- Details of Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates like name of the caste/sub-caste, date of issue, name of issuing authority, State of origin, etc.
- Percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification i.e., B.E./ B.Tech/B.Sc Engineering. Wherever CGPA/OGPA or Letter Grade is awarded in the degree examination, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by the concerned University / Institute.
- General & OBC candidates must have Account Payee Demand Draft for Rs.300/- as indicated at Sl.No. 4 under General Instructions above.
After successfully completing the registration process “online”, the candidates must take a print out of the filled-in application form, affix his passport size photograph, put his signature at the specified place and send the same along with Original Demand Draft/Pay Order, attested copies of certificates pertaining to Qualification, Age, Experience and Caste (as applicable) to the Advertiser, Post Box No. 3098, Lodhi Road Head Post Office, New Delhi – 110 003 only by ordinary post so as to reach latest by 31st July 2008.
Write “Experienced Engineers for NCP OPERATIONS” along with the Position Applied for on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
General & OBC candidates are required to send a NON-REFUNDABLE crossed Demand Draft for Rs.300/- as Application Fee drawn on State Bank of India, Service Branch (Code No.7687) in favour of INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LIMITED (REFINERIES DIVISION) payable at New Delhi. Candidates must write name and address on the reverse of Demand Draft. MO / IPO or any other mode of payment or DD drawn on banks other than SBI stated above will not be accepted. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
Applications of General and OBC candidates without Demand Draft will be rejected.
